Become a Boating Ambassador to Help Southern Resident Orcas
Want to help protect endangered Southern Resident orcas? Have a passion for engaging with boaters about conservation topics?
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, in partnership with Be Whale Wise, is launching a boater ambassador program. This program will train a select group of ambassadors to conduct education and outreach to Washington boaters about the rules and best practices for boating in orca habitat.
An introductory virtual workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 7 to provide more information about the ambassador program and to invite feedback and suggestions from potential ambassadors about the program itself.
Space is limited, so those interested in becoming a boater ambassador must submit an application for consideration by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. Click here to submit an ambassador application.
